Loose Content are a three-piece indie/alt-rock band formed in the hinterlands of Byron Bay during high school. Now based in Melbourne/Naarm, the band comprises of MiLLa (vocals, bass, 22), Sam Sanders (guitar, 22) and Aquila Porter (drums, backing vocals, 20).

Loose Content fuse the urgency of punk rock with the melodic instincts of Britpop and a distinctly Australian sensibility. Their sound is defined by driving rhythms, sharp guitar work and lyrics that balance political awareness with irony and emotional candour.

The band first gained attention with their debut EP Costumes, recorded with Nick DiDia, whose production credits include Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Powderfinger & Rage Against The Machine. The release showcased their raw storytelling and dynamic live presence, quickly establishing them as a band to watch.

Loose Content’s ascent has been rapid and widely recognised. They have delivered standout performances at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Woodford Folk Festival, SXSW Sydney and BIGSOUND - where Dave Rowntree of Blur named Loose Content his favourite band of the 2025 festival during his keynote address, and Richard Kingsmill listed them among his top ten highlights of the week. The band have toured with respected artists such as Grinspoon, The Preatures, The Living End, Bôa and Magic Dirt.

Following the recent release of their new body of work ‘Forth & Back’, produced by Dan Luscombe (Courtney Barnett, The Drones, Amyl & The Sniffers), LC were invited to perform abroad for the first time at The Great Escape 2026. The past few months have seen them undergo their highly anticipated AUS & UK Tour, finishing off with a packed out show at The Windmill in London. Since arriving back in the country, the band have been announced as apart of both the Yours & Owls 2026 and Spilt Milk! 2026 lineups - an indication of a big summer ahead for LC.

Entering their next chapter with confidence, Loose Content continue to carve out a space as one of Australia’s most compelling and exciting young acts.
